Bird Action Hit and Miss!! Winter Pattern Developing!!

As the water begins to cool down more and more on Sabine Lake, fishing patterns will alternate also. Instead of expecting bird action each time out fish will be relating more and more to water temps, salinity, and baitfish. Big trout will start showing up on the shallow flats of the lake. Tide and water temps will dictate what time of day these sow trout will feed. Key on big mullet concentrated in an area and also peaks of tide changes. What to throw the same old consistent winter baits. Corky devils, corkies, catch 2000’s and soft plastics rigged on 1/8 th jigheads retrieved slowly. Where to fish, well I would tell you ,but thats no fun! Challenge yourself just like every other guide had to do and you will become a better fishermen. It will make you appreciate a bite and you will have a sense of satisfaction figuring out winter trout on your own. Keep chunking and fish hard! By the way starting on the North end of the lake is a good choice! OOPS!!

Fished with Glen Grantham,John Foster and Rodney Billiot. We ended uo with 40 nice trout in the 2-5 pound range. The gulf was a little rougher than expected but we managed to bare the seas. Oopps!! I finally gave out a little information where we fished. I really enjoyed the day guys and oh by the way Glen, Louisiana Does Not have a limit on hardheads so you were perfectly legal.
Calm Seas= Easy Limits!!!
I had my scouts go out and check on some of my Gps honey holes today in Sabine Lake, Justin Trahan and Ray Collins. Well it is hard to give up some information for me sometimes but I trust these guys. I sent them out to only two spots and they caught their limits in and hour and half!! I guess my fish are still there. Alot of people are starting to read my reports and reply. Everyone wants to know how come I don’t tell where or what I am catching on. To me thats the fun of fishing. Figuring out the bite and where to fish at certain times of the year. It took me a long time to develop my patterns and every time I fish I learn something new. So if I gave everybody location and baits the fish are biting on I would just be hurting myself. If you would like some info that might help you now all I can say is to fish deeper water!! The pictures are the proof of what happens when I give out my info!! As you can tell most fish were in the 2-5 pound range. Justin and Ray said it was a unbelievable bite, by the way guys Shhhhhhhh!!!!
Trout and Tripletail

Fished today with Glen Grantham and Billy Faulk. These guys know how to wear them out! We were a little short of our limit today but as you can tell the trout were solid. Most ranged from the 3-5 pound range. Great fishing guys! Also congratulations to Glen on his first ever tripletail! Maybe we will get yours next time Billy. Book your trips now for some rod bending action.
