March 10 Sabine Lake Turning On!

picture-3531picture-3541picture-355At last we finally got a little spring time weather going. The water temps have crept up to 63 and the trout have been feeding on Sabine Lake. Yesterday afternoon, I had the pleasure of fishing with Captain Kent. When two of the best guides on Sabine Lake get together, you know something should happen. Well it did and we had a blast!  We didn’t get on the water till about 4:30 afternoon and fished till around 6:00. In that short period of time,we managed to scratch out 15 trout, 1 redfish, and a flounder. The biggest trout was  a 26 incher which inhaled my pink ratfish. Again for those anglers who do not know what a ratfish is, it is made by Flonder Pounder Lures. Sabine Lake trout have been loving them. Contact Joe and Phill Ortiz at Flounder Pounder.net  Fishing should remain steady this week untill the passage of the pacific front predicted. Key on mullet on the flats and make drifts quitely as possible. Sabine Lake is an amazing esturary to fish.  Anyone interested in  booking  a trip should contact me as soon as possible and I gaurantee you will have the  time of your life fishing on SabineLake!
