Fishing on Sabine Lake is getting better!

The speckled trout are starting to school up in Sabine Lake. Redfish are biting along the surf from Little Florida, Louisiana all the way to the Sabine Pass Jetties. Try fishing the North end of Sabine Lake and the Intracoastal for redfish and flounder with live finger mullet is the best bite. Speckled Trout are hitting topwaters along with soft plastics rigged on 1/4 ounce jigheads. Red Shad and chartreuse or the best colors.fish1-004

Big Red

Fished today with Terry, Rusty, and Tim. We kind of struggled on the trout today as the wind whipped up out of the southeast. It screwed up the beach bite early but we managed to stick a few out at the rigs.  Also had some big boys put in the boat today. Im glad this bunch of guys understand fishing and how it goes. We had some awesome trips in the past but this time it was slow. We will make up for it next time guys!! October is just around the corner. Bird fishinf at its finest.

Surf Fishing Part 2 Sunday!!

Today was a better bite than yesterday along the surf. The water was green, plenty of bait, and fish. Between three groups of us fishing we ended up with 92 trout and 23 redfish. It was also the day for the big fish. There was schools of bullreds and jacks  blowing pogy up out of the water. It was an awesome day. The fishermen of the day included, Robby Trahan, Heather Trahan, Randy Trahan, Scott Craigen,Noah Trahan, Nolan Trahan, Kris Krause and Family, Ray Collins and his 2 cousins Mike and Brandon.  Whenever, you can get family and friends together to fish the beach and have such a great time it creates memories that last forever. I know three memories created that day for sure. My sister Heather with her biggest fish ever and Ray Collin’s two cousins Mike and Brandon’s first time to fish saltwater. Not too many trout and redfish in Ohio.

Surf Fishing Part 1 Sat.

Fished with Kris Krause and family Saturday in the surf along Little Flordia Beach.  We hammerd the trout and redfish all day long! We ended up with 27 trout and 15 redfish,fish1-019fish1-024fish1-021 not to mention how many trout and big fish that either got off or broke our lines. We had a blast!  The best way to catch them was using finger mullet on a quarter ounce jighead. I think Kris learned a little about the beach fishing this weekend because the next morning he stroked them and me. He had a limit caught before I could get things rounded up to join them.  By the way Tommy Riggins,  we wish you could have been there. Thanks for the use of your beach camp this weekend!!
