Dodging Storms!!

100_0305Well I  fished with Jim Scholtz and John Crowsley this past Friday. The morning started out beautiful. The lake was calm and the fish were blowing up shad out of the water. To our suprise the fish were moving very fast. We finally hooked up into the school of fish that  were almost out running the trolling motor. As you know it was redfish. I was glad to see some redfish finally. For me the redfishing has been tough but of course ,I haven’t been fishing where we caught them at. So after landing 4 nice reds and loosing a few more good ones, we decided to chase trout. Well in the mist of catching trout we got wrapped around in a huge thunderstorm. It blew, poured down, and struck lightning around us. Well  we just hunkered down for an hour and had to suck it up.  Finally it past, and we decided to call it quits with about a twenty box of fish.  Well Jim and John,  maybe next time  we won’t  have to dodge storms to catch fish.  It hasn’t rained for  two months untill John shows up to fish! I will call you John when my grass starts dying again!! Thanks for the rain!! Hope we get to do it again guys!!

Trout Bite is Awesome!!

Fished this weekend with the Donahue family Mike, Cody,Kevin, and friend Charlie. Well for two days straight we stayed hooked up with fish.  The first day started out kind of slow but it ended in a bang. We caught 40 trout and lots of hard fighting hardheads. The boys loved whatever pulled on their lines. Cody, the youngest of the bunch, was crowned with the “King Hardhead Catcher” award but his luck changed the second day as he put a whooping on his older brother Kevin.  Charlie, their buddy, had the stroke for two days and caught trout very well.  As for Mike and I well let’s say ,we caught them at will! Those boys were some of the most diehard fishermen I ever fished with.  This is what fishing is all about,100_0292a100_0290100_0294a getting our youth envolved.  It made me fell proud to learn that Mike has raised them boys with a passion for the outdoors. I really enjoyed the two days spent with them. The last day  we didn’t fish for long because it was so hot! We landed thirty trout in about an hour and half and ran out of bait. We lost about 15 nice ones. So overall, I would say the trout bite is awesome! Hope we get to do it again guys! Call now to book your trips! WE WILL CATCH FISH!!!!

Another Day At The Office!!
Another Day At The Office!!

My family and I decided to take a vacation untill today. We were in Branson, Missouri and the weather was beautiful compared to down here. Highs one day were only in the 70’s.  Now I have to adjust to the upper 90’s what a difference! Even though I was gone I kept in touch with fishermen. The trout and redfish bit good for three days. Most of the best reports came from the North end of the lake.  I will have updated pics and reports Monday. The fish are still biting so book your  trips soon. Dates are going fast.
