April 08 2009 Trout Fishing Tough

Due to the most recent cold fronts and super low tides Sabine Lake fishing has been tough.  But great weather is in store for the upcoming Easter Weekend!!  Looking at the forecast Friday out to be the day. Hopefully water clarity will improve which I believe is a factor when fishing Sabine. My sugestions for the weekend is to start south from the causeway reef and work the Louisiana shorelines. Look for birds and also key on mullet. Where there is bait the trout or redfish shouldnt be far behind.  What to throw glow chartreuse cocahoe minnows and topwaters early. Dont count out the Jetties it can happen anyday now. Good fishing to everyone and have a safe wekkend on the water.
